A National Conference on
“Literary Text Translation between the powers of the Original Text and the Translation Recipient”
The Translation Institute of Algiers 2 University organized a National Conference of “the Literary Text Translation between the powers of the Original Text and the Translation Recipient” on February 5th and 6th, 2020 in Conference Room of Building C in Bouzaréah.
The Conference has been opened by the address of the Conference President, Pr. Mahbouba Bekkouche, who spoke about the Conference issue and handed over afterwards to the Head of Translation institute, Dr Adila Benaouda, who thanked the Conference organisers and valuated the subject.
For his part, the University Rector Pr. Ammar Manaa, spoke about the digital technology role in the literary text translation and called the teachers to focus on technology in their communications. He announced afterwards the official opening of the Conference works.
The scientific event, in which participated teachers from different universities of the country, included a number of main lines, namely: Poetry translation challenges; Literary translation in the light of modern translation approaches; Translation procedures as regards to the literary text; Limits of adaptation in literary translation; Translator standards employed in the literary text; Receiving theory and literary translation; Translating the literary text within its cultural dimension and the importance of the recipient.
The Conference aims to highlight the importance of the relation between the literary text and the Conference and to supply the cultural environment needs in terms of the literary translations.
On the sidelines of the Conference, the University Rector paid a tribute to the professors Ali Tablit and Mohamed Cherif Bendali Hocine, who went into retirement, recognising at the same time the efforts they made for the benefit of both the University and students.
