As part of the cooperation and scientific and cultural exchange between the University of Algiers 2 and the Embassy of Argentina in Algeria, the University Rector, Pr. Saïd Boumaïza, accompanied by the Vice-Rector of External Relations and cooperation, Pr. Assia Kassad, and the Dean of Foreign Languages Faculty, Dr. Nesrine Bessaï, welcomed on May 5th, 2023, His Excellency the Ambassador of Argentina to Algeria, Mr. Mariano Simón Padrós. The meeting took place at Moufdi Zakaria conference room in building "D", in the presence of several university officials, teachers, and students in translation and Spanish language.
The Rector of the University inaugurated the meeting with a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to His Excellency the Ambassador for his interest in cultural cooperation between the two parties. The Rector also discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education and scientific research by assessing the situation and studying the possibility of developing this cooperation by strengthening links between the two universities, promoting the exchange of scientific missions and visits of students and teachers, encouraging joint research and publication, facilitating access to digital libraries of both parties, and transferring knowledge within the framework of cooperation and partnership agreements that will take place in the near future.
On his part, His Excellency the Ambassador of Argentina expressed his sincere thanks to the Rector and his team for their warm welcome, and openly addressed the questions he was asked by the students during his visit. He also emphasized the need for an exchange of experiences between Argentine and Algerian universities in the scientific and cultural fields.
