The English Department of Algiers 2 University organised on December 14th & 15th, 2022 the First Conference on "Decontextualizing Comparative Literature: Texts, Contexts and Pretexts". The Conference took place in the conference room Moufdi Zakaria situated in Building D in Bouzaréah. The Conference was officially opened by the University Rector, Pr Boumaiza Said who valued in his address in which he Conference subject, while whishing this last would come out with important recommendations.

On her side, the Vice-rector of External Relations and Cooperation, President of PRFU, Pr Assia Kaced, delivered her address in which she thanked all those who organised the Conference. She spoke moreover about the comparative literature.

La Conférence comportait sept axes principaux qui ont été abordés pendant deux jours, notamment : La littérature comparée entre théorie et critique ; Colonisé et colonisateur au carrefour des littératures : comparaison et études linguistiques ; Palimpseste littéraire occidental ; L'expérience de l'intertextualité dans et entre les textes en Afrique.

La conférence s'est terminée par un débat et des recommandations, en plus de la distribution de certificats aux enseignants participants.
