The General Union of Algerian Students “UGEA” commemorated, on December 14th, 2022 at the grand auditorium of Bouzaréah the anniversary of December 11th, 1960 demonstrations.
The event was officially opened by Algiers 2 University Rector, Pr Said Boumaisa, who spoke in his address about the demonstrations’ impact on the liberation struggle’s turning point in Algeria, while the French side was hoping that the popular would be pacified, whilst the voice of the Algerian cause had already reached the international organizations.
On his side, the student Ould Zekari Aymen, President of Wilaya Executive Office of the General Union of Algerian students, delivered his speech in which he reminded the credit that belongs to these demonstrations to make the voice of the Algerian people heard abroad, and their role in changing the course of history.
The event programme consisted on two announcements, the first made by Pr Mohamed Tahar Delmi, and the second by Mr Khamissi Mezghiche, son of moudjahid, who transmitted his father’s testimony about the demonstrations of December 11th, 1960.
Some patriotic chants and poems were interpreted, adding to the presentation of a theatrical play, to conclude by paying tributes.
