On September 17th, 2022, Algiers 2 University opened the 2022-2023 academic year in the conference room of Building D. The event took place with the presence of University officials, local and security authorities’ representatives and social partners.
The Rector Algiers 2 University, Pr Said Boumaiza, opened officially the academic year after its launching from Mustapha Stambouli Univertity of Mascara by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Pr. Kamel Bidari.
In his address, the Rector Pr Said Boumaiza, spoke about the challenge which will face the university community, especially after the return of face-to-face teaching, which will create an overload in the subscribed students number.
He spoke also about the transfer of both Archaeology Institute and Language Intensive Teaching Centre from Beni Messous to the Bouzaréah headquarter, and about the move of the University Rectorate to the new building, which requires concerted efforts of the university community concerning maintenance, handlings, security and parks and gardens maintenance.
He mentioned, among others, the challenges of digitization; the latter requires the involvement of everyone in order to achieve the zero paper purpose, by digitizing all administrative, educational and scientific operations. He also spoke about the activation of digital platforms to receive the concerns of the entire university community.
On the other hand, the Rector stressed the need to launch a challenge to ensure a quality of teaching and a good ranking of the university ranked 42nd out of 120 Higher Teaching Institutions, while encouraging research, innovation, creativity and opening on the society.
He closed his address by wishing everyone a happy academic year.
