The Department of Russian and Turkish Language organised, in partnership with the EPI Studies in Inferential Pragmatics" Laboratory, a lecture on the creativity of the poet and writer “Alexandre Sergueïevitch Pouchkine”. The event which took place in celebration of the International Day of Russian Language, which coincides with the birthday of the great Russian poet, happened on June 6th, 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Nadia Ghezaili and Pr Ali Bournissa.
The scientific and cultural event was attended by teachers and students of the departments of Turkish and Russian & Arabic Language and Arts.
The Faculty of Arabic Language and Art & Oriental Languages’ Dean, Prof. Ali Bournissa, inaugurated the event and talked about the connection of the contemporary Russian language with the name of the great writer Alexandre Sergueïevitch Pouchkine. Then the speech was transferred to the Vice-dean in charge of the Scientific Research, Prof. Ghazaili Nadia, who spoke about Pushkin's contribution to the flourishing of the Russian language. A documentary about Pushkin's life prepared by students of the Department of Turkish and Russian Languages was shown, after which professors and doctoral students presented their valuable interventions according to the program, adding to a discussion on the perception of the great poet and writer’s creativity in both Russian and Arabic literatures.
During the school day, the Turkish and Russian Language Departments’ students participated by an interesting cultural and artistic demonstration.
