The Rector of University of Algiers 2 Abou El Kacem Sâadallah, Pr Said Boumaiza, held on August 27th, 2020, a meeting about the 2019-2020 academic year completion and the starting of 2020-2021 one during Covid-19 pandemic, in attendance of the Vice-rectors, the Faculty Deans, the Institute Heads, the Central Library Head, the Computing Centre Head and the University General Secretary.
The meeting focused on the application of the last Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry’ Decision which relates to the pedagogical organization and management and the students’ assessment through the distance learning, while cancelling, according to the Pedagogic Committee, the students’ required attendance in the different pedagogical activities, except some practical works and trainings.
The meeting was about taking the necessary precautions, as a first step, for the resumption of second year Master students and PhD ones, as well as the Master thesis defence method.
On his part, the Rector reinforced to train the teachers in the distance learning techniques and make available all the pedagogical devices, such as internet rooms and digital equipment, while focusing on applying Covid-19 preventive measures to ensure an organized and secure academic year start.
