Doctoral days 2020 at Algiers 2 University

Algiers 2 University in collaboration with the General Directorate for Scientific Research and Technological Development organised, on March 10th and 11th, 2020 at the Auditorium of Building C of Bouzaréah, two doctoral days with the presence of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry’s representatives and teachers from the universities of Oran 1 & 2 and Ouargla.  

The doctoral days have been opened by the Vice-rector in charge of External Relations, Dr. Assia Kaced, who showed that theses training days aim to shed light for PhD students on the method of writing a scientific article and the conditions of publishing them in a scientific journal.         

The University Rector, Pr. Ammar Manaa, hoped these days to be useful for PhD students, indicating that three new decisions have been taken regarding the publication of articles in the scientific journals, namely: the first is to award a price to each article published in a scientific journal of class A, the second consists on creating a “Student’s House” to guide the students in administrative and scientific matters, to show them the methodology of writing a scientific article and translating it as much as possible to increase its visibility, and finally, the third one which consists on putting into service a head office and a secretarial office for each editorial team classified in class B 

The Vice-rector in charge Post-Graduation and Scientific Research, Pr. Hadj Aifa, showed off, through his address, the statistics of the PhD students, and indicated that these days are an opportunity for them to ask their questions to the specialists.   

The first session consisted on three teachers’ communications, respectively, Habib Tiliouine on human and social sciences in Algeria and the perspectives, Dahou Foudil on the scientific deontology at the university, and Ibrahim Mahmoud on the publication methods on SCOPUS platform. 

As for the second session, it was reserved for practical works and divided into four workshops: one workshop for the human sciences, one for social sciences, one for Arabic humanities and one another for languages and translation. 

During the second doctorial day, whose the practical works have been presented in the second session, the teachers Mebarki Bouhafs, Nadia Iles and Khettal Messaoud presented their communications. The one of this latest was about the regulatory texts governing the doctoral training in Algeria, the rights and the obligations of PhD students and the procedures of PhD defence. The teacher Harik Hakim spoke about the scientific journals and their classification and the database of the national publication platform, while focusing on scientometric indicators which include the number of articles and citations.
