The research team related to Clinical and Metrical Psychology Laboratory “Development psychology and disabilities”, in collaboration with the Ministry of the National, Family and Women’s cause’s Solidarity, organized in the Grand Auditorium of Bouzaréah on December, 5th, 2019, the first National Conference on « The reality of intellectual disabled child early care and the parental accompaniment».
The Conference has been opened by the University Rector, Pr. Ammar Manaa, who gave a speech through which he thanked the Conference organizers and highlighted afterwards the efficiency of prior studies on the development of children with intellectual disability, and also the importance of young age children care and the family role.
In the other hand, the Dean of Social Sciences Faculty, Pr. Nacer Eddine Zebdi, insisted on the importance of finding solutions on behalf of this category. The Head of Clinical and Metrical Psychology Laboratory, Pr. Dalila Haddadi, showed the importance of focussing attention on extensive case studies and generalising these later afterwards.
On her part, the Conference General Chair, Dr. Akila Sahraoui, mentioned the issue of the Conference and highlighted the need of reaching results and making suggestions in the field of intellectual disability in order to take advantages.
The Conference included four main lines: the first is about modern approaches and applications of early intervention programmes and parental accompaniment in intellectual disability field; the second addresses the diagnosis and the measurement in the programme of the early intervention in Algeria; presentation of a study of typical cases in the early intervention and the parental accompaniment in Algeria and the role of the multidisciplinary work team (difficulties and challenges): field examples.
The Conference aims to enrich the scientific literature regarding the early care and the parental accompaniment in the intellectual disability field, to bring out specialists professional expertise and the difficulties of caring the children with intellectual disability.
This scientific manifestation aims also to propose a psychological support conception specialised in the intellectual disability field, exchanging ideas and points of views as well as practical experiences in the field of early intervention and parental accompaniment.
The Conference has been closed by recommendations on the possibility of generalising either the early diagnosis -or- the care of intellectual disabled child.
