The University of Algiers 2 organised on November 6th, 2019 in the Grand-Auditorium, a training day on Erasmus + scholarships, which are funded by the European Delegation.
The training day began by the word of Dr. Assia Kaced, Vice-rector of External Relations and Cooperation, through which she welcomed the present and gave an overview of the Eropean program Erasmus+ and the different scholarships given in this framework. She besides showed the importance of this program for the university interest and confirmed that the selection process to benefit from these scholarships is done in full transparency. She asked as well the students and the teachers who have benefited from this program to represent properly the University and Algeria in particular.
For her part, Miss Assia Bennoui, the person in charge of Erasmus+ projects in Algiers 2 University, talked about the scholarships offered by the European Delegation for the benefit of students, teachers and university officials. She confirmed that the opportunities are provided for students, in all phases starting from the second year of Licence, to benefit from training or. a scholarship in the foreign partner universities.
She added that the mastery of foreign languages is very important to seize such opportunities, especially English which is the most requested language in all the foreign universities.
She also pointed out on the need of intensifying everyone’s efforts to get exchange agreements with more foreign universities, by the cooperation of teachers and students with the University administration, to have consequently more projects in this context.
The present listened to different testimonies of the teachers and students who benefited from the scholarships in the foreign universities, such as the Italian, the Spanish and the Turkish university, respectively Sapienza, Alicante and Cumhuriyet. They all confirmed the transparency and the equality of opportunities which characterise the University of Algiers 2. They also focused on the importance of this experience to know the culture of others and to introduce the Algerian university in the different international occasions, considering them as the best ambassadors of Algeria abroad.
