The Fifth National Conference: ‘’Empowering Algerian women in promoting political participation’’ under the slogan: Opportunities, Challenges, Sustainable Development

   The Laboratory of Family, Development, Prevention of Deliquency and Criminality of Algiers 2 University, organized, in coordination with the National Council for Family and Women at the Ministry of Solidarity, Family and Women’s issues, organised on March 15th and 16th , 2023, the Fifth National Conference: ‘’Empowering Algerian women in promoting political participation’’ under the slogan: Opportunities, Challenges, Sustainable Development, under the supervision of Pr Sabah Ayachi, the Laboratory Head.

      The President of the Forum, Pr. Sabah Ayachi, inaugurated the National Forum and delivered a speech in which she thanked all the participants and contributers. She emphasized the need to enhance and empower women's roles in political participation. The floor was then given to Pr. Said Boumaiza, the Rector of Algiers2 University, who highlighted the importance of women's roles in society in particular and in all fields in general, and commended Algerian women for their exceptional achievements in comparison to women in Arab and Occidental societies. He also acknowledged the significance of the conference's topic and officially announced its opening.

   The conference addressed five main lines: The concept of Algerian women's political participation and commenting on their most prominent roles in the most prominent roles in the most important Algerian historical phases; Legal texts and gaps in implementation and application; Social and economic empowerment and its relationship to women's political participation; Identifying the most important variables and challenges in the political empowerment of women; Mechanisms for activating women's participation in political activity.

   The conference included six scientific sessions in which the contributors who came from various regions of the country discussed a range of topics related to the theme. The conference was concluded on its second day with a series of recommendations.
